Roselawn Elementary Programs
Roselawn Elementary takes pride in providing a diverse range of specialty programs aimed at accelerating and enhancing your child's acquisition of vital, practical skills. Below is a comprehensive list of the programs we offer. We invite you to reach out to us for further information on these programs and to discover how they can contribute to your child's development.
D-Level Program Social Groups
Students in the D-Level Program are offered one-on-one weekly Social Group time with regular education peers. Students interact with their peers in a structured environment, helping them develop essential social skills such as sharing, taking turns, and understanding social cues. These groups foster improved communication skills, enabling students to practice both verbal and non-verbal communication in a supportive setting. It develops empathy and builds confidence in learners.
English as a Second Language/Bilingual
Roselawn is nestled in a cultural bilingual community. Our assets-based approach bilingual program offers our linguistically and culturally diverse learners the opportunity to develop proficiency in two languages, enhancing their communication skills and cultural awareness. It provides a comprehensive education that supports academic achievement in both languages while fostering cognitive benefits such as improved language development and content-area learning. Additionally, the bilingual program prepares students for a globalized world, increasing their career opportunities and cross-cultural competencies.
Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics (STEM)
Roselawn is equipped with a Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation STEM Center located in the discovery center made possible by the generosity of local donors. The discovery center is where the New Mexico STEM Ready! science standards and science curricula (Mystery Science, Elevate, and Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation STEM Curriculum) come to life!
Discovery centers are collaborative spaces for small groups of students to work together to complete intellectually engaging activities. The centers are equipped with supplies to perform exciting experiments and hands-on technology to engineer student designs. Lessons are put in the hands of Artesia students for them to ask questions, imagine ideas, design solutions, test concepts, improve designs, and share their results.
Ask your student what’s happening in their discovery STEM center!
