How do I enroll my child at an Artesia Public School?

We are thrilled to welcome new members to our community as well as our incoming kindergartners! Please visit our Registration page for the information we require to enroll your child at one of our schools. You may also download and print a copy of the registration forms and bring the completed forms, together with the required documentation, to the main office of the school your child will attend. You will need to visit the office in person to deliver the required documentation and complete the registration process.

Do APS District schools offer breakfast and lunch?

We operate an excellent nutrition program at each campus. Our elementary schools serve breakfast, free of charge, to all students. Hot lunch is available for purchase, and we also participate in the federal free and reduced price lunch program for those who qualify. For more information, please see our Food Services page.

Our family circumstances have changed. May we apply for the free/reduced price lunch program after the first of the school year?

If you believe your child qualifies for free or reduced lunches, you may apply at any time of the year to receive this benefit. For more information, visit our Food Services page or contact us for information about how to apply.

What if my child requires medication during the school day?

We will administer medication in accordance with NM state regulations and with physician and parental approval. Please download a medical form from our Registration page, and bring the completed form together with the medication in the original, labeled packaging.

What does the term Common Core refer to?

The state of New Mexico adopted Common Core State Standards in 2010. The standards provide a consistent set of requirements across the entire state of what we expect our students to learn in order to achieve success in the workforce and college after high school. Do you provide transportation services?

We are pleased to provide our students with safe, reliable transportation to and from school each day. We consider bus riding a privilege and expect all students to adhere to the rules for their own safety as well as the safety of others. What is ParentAide and how do I get a username and password to use it?

ParentAide is just one more way we are working to stay connected. ParentAide provides you with almost real time access to your child’s grades, attendance history, and other information. To receive your login information, please complete the ParentAide Access form found on our Registration page.
